Step-by-step guide on participating in MetisDAO community testing of the decentralized sequencers.

It’s no longer news that Metis is the first Layer 2 solution to decentralize the sequencer marking a new beginning in the world of Ethereum Layer 2s.

But before this cutting-edge technology goes live on mainnet, it must undergo battle testing and metis is inviting her community to participate in the testing of this new tech, below is a guide in which we will be testing 2 protocols, TethysFinance and Netswap.

Let's get started

Step 1 - Visit decentralize.metis.io

Step 2 - Click on the “Connect wallet” button.

Once connected to your wallet, you will see the amount of your Metis tokens and XP points in the top right corner of your screen. At this time, the amount of Testnet Metis tokens and XP you will see is 0.

Step 3 - Claim your test tokens by clicking “Claim your tokens” in the Daap section below.

After clicking on "Claim your tokens," a pop-up window will appear with instructions on how to claim your tokens then click on “Claim”

After clicking the “Claim” button, you will be redirected to a Telegram bot. Click on the "Start" button to begin the process, and you will receive a message in Telegram confirming that the tokens have been sent successfully to your wallet (see image below).

Now that test tokens have been claimed, let's proceed to try out testing Tethysfinance

STEP 1

Go back to decentralize.metis.io and click on TethysFinance, you will see the tasks to be completed.

In my case, I've already completed it.

STEP 2

Proceed to swapping

• Input amount
• click swap
• confirm the transaction in the wallet
• Done!

STEP 3

Proceed to perp trading (long/short) Metis.

• click long/short
• input amount
• choose leverage
• click done
• confirm transaction

STEP 4

Buying TLP

At the top of the TethysFinance Dapp

• click liquidity
• buy tlp
• input amount
• confirm transaction

That's it for TethysFinance, now lets proceed to Netswap, the oldest Dex on Metis

STEP 1

Go back to decentralize.metis.io and click on Netswap, you will see the tasks to be completed.

STEP 1

• click on “Start now”

• swap Metis for Nett
• confirm transaction

STEP 2. Adding liquidity

• Click on “earn”
• choose a pool (I choose Nett-Metis)

• click “get LP token”

• input the amount
• click supply
• confirm transaction

And that’s all for participating in those two protocols
